However, there are many areas of the world that either experience a significant reduction in natural daylight due to climate conditions, or the people within communities simply do not have lifestyles conducive to leisurely outdoor activity. Rather, in many areas of the world the daylight gained through outdoor activity and labor have been replaced with indoor jobs or activities under electric lighting for 8-12 hours a day. As our lives require us to be awake and focused further beyond sundown, there grows a demand for lighting systems which help support and maintain our physiological health.
Having limited access to daylight and being overexposed to electric light can cause a gradual shift in our body’s natural circadian rhythms. If our rhythms shift too much, we may find ourselves with undesirable health conditions and likely a chip on our shoulder.
